Small Business Facebook Post Ideas

Looking for small business Facebook post ideas to help you get started on the platform or get through a creative block? Don’t worry, we have you covered.

It’s not uncommon for local marketers and small business owners to feel like they are running out of content to share with their audience. If you’ve hit a creative block, the worst thing you can do is stop posting on your Facebook page, because once you stop posting on a regular basis, it’s much harder to get started again.

Gary Vaynerchuk said it best, “Document, don’t create”.

Many small businesses fall off their posting schedule because they’ve fallen victim to a “creative block” or just can’t find things around them to get inspired. If that’s the case for you then you’re overthinking the process and need to change the way you look at your role on Facebook and other social platforms.

Just start posting what’s happening in your business today.

Your Facebook page doesn’t always have to show off the “best” you or the best of your business, product, or brand. Your goal should be to be more authentic and start sharing what you and your business are doing each day. At the end of the day, you’ll get more posts up and your audience will feel more connected with you and your business.

With that said, let’s dig into some of our favorite small business Facebook post ideas.

1. Brag About An Employee or Staff Member

Have an employee that is exceeding your expectations or recently went above and beyond to help a customer? Share it with your followers. The great thing about Facebook is you can make a post as short or as long as you’d like. You can share the entire story of of what happened, or you can just acknowledge the employee and thank them for their hard work. It’s up to you. Either way, it will make your employees feel great and it will make customers more excited to come visit your business.

This should go without saying but do your best to include a photo of your employee in the post. Whether you can get a candid shot of them helping a customer or even a head shot of them smiling, either will help boost the reach of your post.

2. Acknowledge an Awesome Customer

All small businesses are built on the back of at least one loyal customer. Next time you see that customer, get a picture with them and share it with your audience. Let them know how much you appreciate their business and how grateful you are to have them as a customer.

You can’t build a great business without loyal customers and they’ll appreciate that you recognize that.

If you’re friends with that customer on Facebook then don’t be afraid to tag them when you post it so all their friends and family can see.

3. Hop on a Daily Trend

People love Monday Motivation (#mondaymotivation), Tuesday Thoughts (#tuesdaythoughts), and “Throw Back Thursday” (#tbt) posts. Take advantage of these opportunities to share relevant content with the rest of the world. One dentist did a nice job thinking outside the box when they posted an old Colgate ad for Throw Back Thursday.

4. Go Meme Hunting

Social media loves funny images so take a few minutes to find a funny meme about your industry. To get started simply Google “[industry] meme” or “[niche] meme” or “[service] meme”, then click on “Images” and flip through your options.

Want an example? If you’re looking for Facebook post ideas for car dealerships, you could try doing a search like “car dealership meme” or “new car memes” and then click “images”. We found this gem.

5. Share a 5 Star Review About Your Business

If you’re reading our blog then you know how much we love reviews. When it comes to your reviews, our motto is; “if you’ve got ’em, flaunt ’em”. Posting your 4 and 5 star reviews to Facebook is a great way to pat yourself on the back without looking like tool.

You can use a free tool like Canva to put the review text on a nice background image or background template, or you could just post the text and link to your review page. Keep in mind that images almost always boost your reach and engagement.

6. Post a Motivational Quote

This goes along with #3 except motivational quotes work every day of the week. Find a quote that will really inspire your audience and then put it on an image and share it.

For example, if you’re looking for Facebook post ideas for plastic surgeons then do a search for “beauty quotes” or “confidence quotes”. Then find one that your patients will relate to. People will remember how you make them feel and if you can make them feel good with your Facebook posts before they ever call you to book an appointment then you are winning.

7. Go Live… Even If Just to Say “Hi!”

Facebook Live Steaming is an amazing tool that many business owners (including me) aren’t taking advantage of for their business. With the push of a couple buttons, you can speak directly to your audience… Live.

Facebook will even send an alert to let people know that you just went live. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Most people don’t go live because they don’t know what to say or are afraid of the camera. If we go back to the top and follow Gary V’s advice, then I encourage you all to go live and just document your business. Start by saying “hi”, introduce yourself,  give them a brief tour of your office or store, introduce them to some of your staff and products, and close the video with an invitation to come visit you. Get super ninja by offering a secret special offer for anyone who watches the video.

The options are endless but if you are looking for a great small business Facebook post idea, Facebook Live is a fantastic option that is very underutilized.
